Big Girl Bed

Check out Kam's big girl bed, all the way up off the ground! It is technically just a mattress on top of 7 storage bins but Kam thinks it's just great. She has new sheets and a new room arrangement. She couldn't be happier, especially when I told her we would take a picture of her new bed for the blog.

Tubes

So, Kameryn goes in for "surgery" tomorrow morning to get tubes in her ears. I would be lying if I didn't say I was the little bit scared. (Actually, I'm terrified.) I know it is not a major surgery, but you can't tell me there is no risk. There is a risk with every surgery. And I have a vivd enough imagination to be freaking myself out. Although, in all reality, the only risks with this procedure would be so bizarly unreal...
She is going under anesthesia and that's the part that has me worried. But it should be pretty quick. She is expected to be dizzy and angry. I hope that is all.
Kami's had bad ear infections for a while now. We found out a week or so ago that she practically has solid muck behind her ear drums that don't allow them to move freely as they should. So when they put the tubes in, all the muck should just ooze out. We have been told that tubes should not only help her ear infections, but it could help in areas such as sleep and speech.
Anyway, we go first thing in the morning, the procedures should take no more than an hour and a half. That's going to be a long time for me. I just can't wait to get it over with. I tell you what, if I ever have a child that has to have major surgery or hospital admittance, I think I will pretty much die. Too hard, much too hard.
But, as if this blog isn't long enough, parenting gives one a small glance at the unwavering and eternal love, concern, and forgiveness our Father in Heaven has for us. If I can love my children this much, think of them this much, and pretty much live and breathe for them and their companionship, how much does this teach me of my Heavenly Father's feeling for me. It definetly makes His love for me easier to understand and believe in, even when I mess up. It also makes me think more about my effort to form a relationship with Him.
He speaks of waiting at the door for you to let Him in. He also speaks of essentially standing with arms wide open to recieve us. I understand that feeling. My children are not away from home, but I can imagine the anticipation I would have to see them, be with them, comfort them, and guide them. He is my father and I am His daughter. That relationship speaks volumes and you don't quite understand that until you have your own children and can experience that relationship from a parential side.

Our California Trip

We just back from Cali on our trip to see my grandparents for their 50th wedding anniversary. It was so much fun, even though it was so short. We loved being there with all our California family that we don't get to see very often. It was just so wonderful to be there celebrating with Grandma and Grandpa. Even if it was for only a short while.

Here are the highlights:
-Stopping by Uncle Zea's to take family pics and getting to see Uncle Zea and Auntie 'Rene
-Yummy big breakfasts and eating whole crab that was alive only moments before
-The beautiful beach and watching Kam love it so much
-Dave, the pansy, when he wimped out with the baby crab and it bit Brandon's finger
-Being in my Grandparents house and all the memories
-The smell of California: it's reminiscent of Cali, (obviously) Argentina, and New Zealand memories.)
- My Grandma's regional stake conference (such a wonderful meeting)
-Bumming around in the grand ole "city" of Boomtown; playing games and just enjoying the mishaps that are family caravans
-Dave's lame state patroller comments. Our favorite: "It's looks like we're coming up on something medical to the right."
- Following behind Steve . . .
- BUT MORE THAN ANYTHING!: we loved being with our family, especially my grandparents. They are such wonderfully special and incredible people. We loved that we were able to surprise them and be there for a special event in their lives because they are always there for ours.

Happy Day!

If you can't guess from the title, WE GOT OUR COMPUTER BACK! Just on Monday they had told us it would be a week longer and on Wednesday they called to tell us it was all ready. So we picked it up on our drive to Cali. They put a completely new monitor on it. Best news of all, they didn't erase our hard-drive so I still have all my pictures of my cute kids. I will be spending the next couple of days backing them up for the instance this happens again. Yeah for the Bowen Family!!!

Still No Computer

Sad to say, we still do not have a computer. Saddest of all, all of my fun blog adventures and moments have gone undocumented because we have had NO computer. I have had to borrow Gwen's or (as I am currently) I've had to have Brandon bring home his company laptop so I can pay bills. Originally our computer was supposed to be done this week. Now it won't be done until next week... Bummer. I miss my music, my pictures, and my blogging. Anyway, here is our quick update of Bowenisms in list format.
1. we went bowling in town. We were the only ones there and we had a blast!!! Kameryn outbowled all of us with a 115 or something like that. She thought it was the best thing ever and was constantly screaming out "Go Mommy!" "Yea Daddy!" Too cute (and of course I forgot our camera...)
2. Cooper is allergic to bananas and something else we haven't yet pinned down. He has a terrible rash all the time that we now have to rub down with steriod cream.
3. Brandon got a new tv (thanks to an unnexpected Christmas bonus) 42" LCD widescreen HDTV I think that those are all the important stats.
4. Kam gets to get tubes in her ears. Yea! ... I guess that is one way to get the insurance deductable out of the way at the beginning of the year.

Sadly, there are many other things that I have thought to blog but can't recall now. (it's my alzhiemers...) Oh well, hopefully by next week life can get back to normal. (I never realized how much I used my computer...) All our love, please don't forget about us or give up on us, I promise we'll come back.

Out of the Mouths of Babes

Here again is our recurring post. This time I didn't here it, Brandon did. Story goes as follows: we had just taken the long trip to Costco to get Brandon his t.v. We figured since we were so close to Old Navy we would stop by. I left Brandon and the kids in the car to stand guard of his tv while I went shopping. Apparently while I was gone Kameryn continually rolled down the window and yelled out "Mommy! Mommy where are you?!" and again "Brittany! Brittany can you hear me?! Brittany!" Brandon said she did it over an over again; screaming into the empty parking lot. When I walked out of the store and she finally saw me she yelled out "Mommy! Did you get me a present?!" Silly girl. (And of course I got here a present....)

We aren't dead...

Just to let my fellow bloggers know, we are not dead, our computer is. We think the backlight on our laptop is broken. Hence the reason we haven't blogged for the last few days. I am currently at Gwen's paying my bills and just thought we'd inform you of our predicament since we have already had many inquiries. Hopefully we will be back and running by next week...
